News About the 2005 Cornhusker State Games

Major schedule changes for 2005 have been made. All Scholastic Divisions age groups will be run the first two sessions on Saturday. All Takedown Division age groups will be run the third session on Saturday. All Greco Division age groups will be run Sunday morning. All Freestyle Division age groups will be run Sunday afternoon. A new pee-wee division has been added to allow wrestlers Ages 4-6 to participate in the games. Additional age groups have been added to both Greco and Freestyle Divisions. Please note the intent of the CSG Wrestling competition is to provide summer time matches to all age groups. These matches will happen in a laid back format with no intention of making this into a state championship type tournament. Note the entry fee not only provides you with wrestling matches it also provides you with a 2005 CSG T-Shirt, admission to the Opening Ceremonies Friday night at Seacrest Field, and the Family Fest at the Ice Box Saturday night. Note you get a free meal plus entertainment at the Family Fest. If you have never been to the Opening Ceremonies this is a must do event for you. The School Pride Awards will be given to the top team in each of the four classes in both Middle School and High School Divisions. This is the second year for these awards. Please encourage your fellow classmates to enter the Games and get in the hunt for a plaque.
